Agreed that the name is wrong. But whatever you call it, it does seem to have some potential for automating some job functions.

I can imagine AI providing better customer support for a company like Verizon than is currently being provided by their barely English-speaking Indian or Filipino call center staff.

If nothing else, AI might utter fewer outright falsehoods about the terms of the service being provided.
