When my sister was a nun (Dominican) she lived at the Queen of the Rosary Novitiate on Albany Ave in North Amityville. When we didnt have a car, we'd take the LIRR to Amityville & get a cab to the Novitiate. We'd have to ride thru some nasty neighborhoods to get there. IIRC the place is an assisted living facility nowadays.
