You really don’t understand what that phrase means and how it’s applied. It’s what’s called a “legal fiction.”

Legal fiction?? Never heard that watching Perry Mason.

"A person is thus “proven guilty” by accepting a pardon."

So that means that Nixon was "proven guilty" of whatever he was to be charged with by accepting Ford's pardon??
