An insufficient base. He could win the nomination just like last time with a plurality, but only if the other Republicans don’t get out of each other’s way. If DeSantis gets early united support, Trump is toast.

And of course in the general he can’t win since there are no election deniers in charge of key states. The Wisconsin Legislature can still make him proud, though.

Governing Florida will be secondary to DeSantis. That’s how it worked for Clinton in 92 and Bush in 2000.
