How can you "throw" a Primary?It's easiest when everyone can vote in the primary of their choice. Example: Republicans A and B are in a primary to decide who will oppose Democrat C. A is a moderate Republican and B is a nut job. C would have a far easier time defeating B than A. Democrats "throw" the primary by joining together en masse to vote for B in the Republican primary. B wins and C then defeats him in the general election. |
