I don’t think that he is. If you google about plate tectonics, it was proposed until the 20th century and wasn’t widely accepted until the 1960’s and 70’s.

If you were taught about continental drift, then it was pretty early. Unless you were taught earlier theories like the earth being hollow or the earth expanding, and others.
