But there is no proof that it will have catastrophic results if not stopped quickly. If worst-case predictions of past decades had come true, we'd all be dead now. Forest fires have similar results regardless of whether the sparks that touch them off are human-caused or not. And global warming of one or two degrees will have similar results regardless of whether it is human activity or solar activity that causes it.
