There is no fundamental difference. The only difference is pandering to certain freedoms, e.g. religion, possession of (limited) private property, and suchlike.

In fact, communists themselves pander to national pride without admitting that they have embraced national socialism. Stalin's "socialism in one country" and China's "socialism with Chinese characteristics" are very Nazi-like.
