You can infer it from these two lines:
The Constitution gives the Senate the power to try the president if he is impeached by the House, but it does not set a timetable for the process.
...
“There is no way we could somehow bar the doors and prevent the managers from presenting the articles to the Senate,” stated the memo. “The rules of impeachment are clear on this point.”


I realize this is naive but I think that it should be a "fair and speedy trial" and the outcome should be based on facts and evidence, not how it effects Senate re-election prospects. This is one of the areas where the change to direct election of Senators wasn't fully thought out.
