I love the way it's called Meatless Monday.
In some cultures Meat is for special occasions. They did this in some Korean Drama's I've seen. They do it in Judaism too.

To not have meat on Monday is so fitting if you have "a case of the Mondays". May as well make a senate resolution that says Monday Sucks.
