Although he is initially playing with the toy gun, no one is visible in the entire park. Far more likely, a Becky called 911 and reported a Black man with a gun, not a child at play. Hmm. As a kid, I ran all over my neighborhood with a jet-black cap gun, and no cops ever shot me dead over it.

The park is still empty when the police come screeching in. As established by the time index, less than two seconds later, Tamir is dead. He wasn't pointing anything at anyone by this time. No voice commands, no "comply or die", nothing. He was a child.
