This time tomorrow I'll be throwing streamers and nymphs and, hopefully, a few dries while fly fishing for rainbows on the North Fork Boise River. If past history is any indication I will catch nothing and then return to LaGuardia on Saturday afternoon to resume my pathetic life.I caught one rainbow on a #16 Elk Hair Caddis on that water while deployed to Mountain Home AFB but it was the only one. I remember my friends from the squadron laughed at me because it took me so long to quote unquote don the ensemble. They went upriver with their spinning gear and caught nothing so when they returned to pick me up and saw me fighting the fish said individuals apologized. |
