I'm guessing it was partially well-intentioned misunderstanding and partially just fakery.- There were people overseas who celebrated. - There were non-Muslim morons on the waterfront in Jersey City making asses of themselves. Some people probably honestly conflated the two sets of images and think they remembered people celebrating in Jersey City. It's like Hillary Clinton thinking she landed in Sarajevo under sniper fire and G W Bush thinking he saw the TV footage of the first plane hitting the WTC. |
