I agree that Omar's choice of words about why CAIR was founded, were thoughtlessly callous.

However, she is also the co-sponsor of the bill that reauthorizes the 9/11 Victims' Compensation Fund, of which I and thousands of other current and former first responders are beneficiaries.

There is a mitigating factor here.
