From what I’ve read he championed it and had back channel conversations with Martin Luther King while that was going on . Maybe at one time he was not interested in it, maybe he had an epiphany while vice President to JFK, maybe JFK and RFK beat him into submission, I don’t know. Maybe lady bird cut him off until he saw the light LOL |
