Collusion can be one of several criminal offenses of different degrees of severity.- Donald Jr. probably really did say to the Russians "Hey it would be great if you could get dirt on the Clinton campaign." That is solicitation of campaign assistance of value from a foreign source. That is illegal, but not sufficient cause to remove Sr. from office. - Jr. could have said "Hey, if you get dirt on the Clintons and my Dad gets elected, he'll reduce sanctions." That's called soliciting a bribe. If that happened, Jr. deserves jail. If Sr. can be shown to have approved it, Sr. deserves removal from office and jail. I have no reason to believe the latter occurred - this is just a hypothetical illustration of how collusion could be a very concrete and serious criminal offense. |
