JayZ's example may have been 8 months short of his early retirement date, and might now have had to wait until his regular retirement date, which could have been much later.The same seems to be true of McCabe. His was fired 2 days short of his age-50 special early retirement date. Now he has to wait until his earliest regular retirement date of age 60. Firing simply "for cause" never affects a pension. In some jurisdictions, you can lose your pension for criminal activity related to your work, but not just because you broke the rules. |
