Then the sitting governor of Alabama, Kay Ivey, can immediately return him to his old Senate seat, forestalling Moore.This would also be good for Trump, as he could then appoint a new AG, who might not recuse himself from the Russia case, as Sessions did. Trump can then fire Mueller, and stop the entire investigation. Several pundits, including Rachel Maddow, have been exploring possible variations on this sequence of events. |
