It's too much to go through daily.

Thanks. It's what I've suspected.

It's not the total time on the road (I'd figure about an hour and a half each way, which is a bitch in itself), but the number of different connections that has to be made. If one of those connections breaks down, or has a "sick passenger," or is "on strike," or falls victim to ice in the river or snow on the road, I can't get to work on time.

Two to four different vehicles over two to four authorities over two to four different rights-of-way is too much to ask for it to all be choreographed properly day in and day out.

And furthermore, it's not like I can just sink my suit-covered-anus into a seat and sleep for the hour-and-a-half. I will spend half of my time or more getting to or waiting for the next vehicle. Who needs that?

This is not "railfanning." This is trying to get to a livelihood.
