I hope the police are sued for their stand down. So fuck them. They are not heroes in all this and may have allowed things to escalate by standing down. There were actually only about 500 there to protest the removal of the statue. There were about 1000 first responders. The ratio of law enforcement to white supremacists was ideal for keeping shit under control. Law enforcement could have and should have kept things under control. Hopefully an investigation and video will reveal their behavior to be negligent. They'll probably say they got tired of being hit by cement filled soda cans(thrown by who?). |
