You guys talk like everything was honky dory in this country racially. Ever heard of Romdney King? Caused tacial tension in the early 90's Bush #1 president, In NY Amadou Diallo in NY caused racial tension in NY at least. People of Colr has been complaing about Police Brutality for the longest come on now. What about this country's lack of response to Katrina under Bush #2 which led Kanye West to respond 'Bush don't care about black people' Ummm you can trust my word as a black man Kanye West wasn't alone in his opinion. If you think we had not racial division bf Obama then you've just been voluntarily ignoring it.And yes the RW media and politicians make it worse. When they talk about ppl taking handouts who do you think they show. You guess it some black person or latino from the 'hood', goes back to Reagan and his presidential campaign painting black woman as 'welfare queens', but of course when it comes to white ppl in Appalachian areas or poor area's is it about ppl being lazy and taking handouts ohhh nooo it's they're unemployed and it's Obama's fault. But of course in the 'hood' is it mentioned they are economic deserts with no jobs no it's just they're lazy and need to just get a job and get off food stamps. What about drugs when the crack epidemic hit the 'hood' the politicians solutions was throw em all in jail fuck em. Now that the heroin epidemic hit suburbia those same politician's from the same party all of the sudden is getting sympathic and saying don't throw em in jail treat em. You think ppl of color don't notice this? Come on racial division has been around since we've had a country. |
