The idea that people deserve to succeed or fail by their own merits rather than be assigned into wealth or poverty by birth and presumed to deserve it because of their inherent nature? The idea that China invented over two thousand years ago and Europe obtained in the 17th century because they learned it in China? Or perhaps you were referring to the ancient Egyptians who built pyramids when Europe was still a primitive hellhole? Or perhaps a few hundred years back, when the Mayans had an advanced society while the Europeans were still wallowing in their own shit? Maybe you're talking about when Spain was colonised by (African) Muslims who brought civilisation with them? The relatively egalitarian cultures in Australia while Europe believed in divine right of kings? Ooh, I know! You're talking about in the 18th century, when Europe was so advanced they were practicing slavery and genocide! Sorry, no. Can't think of what you're possibly referring to. |
