It wasn't that they failed to respond to his cries for help— they intentionally caused his injuries. Putting handcuffed people in the back of a van with no seat belts and then intentionally driving like maniacs in order to cause injury is a practice the police department engaged in with such regularity that they actually had a special name for it— "nickel rides."What they are guilty of is premeditated murder. |
