It's harder for them to go full speed with sanctions we know were putting them in a severe bind.And consider #3a. Even as we speak, Iran is continuing in their non-nuclear aggressions in pursuit of power. On #4. Another word for "slowing down" is "kick the can down the road." Chamberlain slowed down Hitler for a year. Stalin for two years. Germany used the time to become stronger; built in to the Iran deal is that won't become weaker military, but will become stronger economically. If they break any deal, what are we going to do then? Go to War? Isn't that what Progressives say we shouldn't do? Actually, you alluded to that when you said #3 can become #1. Of course that is unlikely to happen on Obama's watch. |
