Kind of relevant to "true motives" and oddly appropriate.During World War II some Catholic Churches took in Jewish children as orphans and raised them as Catholic. Madame Albright was one such who had no idea she was Jewish until rather elderly. My own mother doubted whether that was truly a good deed because conversion being then (and now?) an important (and hardly philo-Semitic) aim of the Church, she saw Jewish souls stolen and I saw Jewish bodies saved. Which side are you on? |
