My country is only accessible through teleportation so it's not like people can sneak across the border. We do have an open immigration policy, though— pay for the 'port and get a complimentary Notice of New Residence; basically a green card. What about dietary restrictions? Well, most of the population isn't human so they have quite a few dietary restrictions— given their alien biochemistry, it's a small miracle they can eat anything native to the Earth at all. For humans, things are a lot easier. Foods only humans can eat tend to be harder to find since there's less market for them and thus less incentive to produce them, but the only real restrictions are on sugar— many brands of glucose use synthetic product; the synthetic glucose is usually racemic, and humans can only eat right-handed sugars. Is there an equivalent of the USDA? Nope. We have no government regulations of any sort. |
