A racist means that you are more comfortable around and prefer people of your own kind.Nope. A racist is someone who believes that their race is inherently superior. However, in America, "racism" is generally used as a shorthand for "systemic racism," a set of institutions that give an automatic (and often unconscious) advantage to one race over others. As such, while it is possible for anyone to be a racist under the literal definition of the term, it is not possible for a "black racist" to exist as the term is generally used since there is no systemic racism in favour of black people that any one black person can support. A bigot is someone who hates everyone else who is not like them for no other reason other than they are different. Close. "Bigot" is a catch-all term for anyone who believes that a particular demographic they belong to makes them inherently superior to people not in that demographic— whether it be race, sex, sexual preference, nationality, or anything else. However, once again, "bigot" is used as shorthand to refer to systemic bigotry, meaning only a member of a privileged group can be a bigot with respect to that group. You KNOW you consider yourself white[citation needed] but to the Liberal, being white is a bad thing![citation needed] Fixed that for you. |
