The Iraqi people are not the enemy here. They are the victims. 50 million Iraqis have been subjugated under a cruel, autocrat and his two maniacle sons. They were subject to torture, rape and barbaric forms of capital punishment for disagreeing with the government, losing international athletic competitions, & thinking for themselves. Do you really think they need to be punished.

By the way, we're not giving them freedom. We're giving them the opportunity to have a form of representative government. Today's election is only an intirim step. They will elect a temporary leader and a congress that will write a constitution and form a government that will be elected several months from now. What they do with the opportunity will be determined by how badly they want to succeed.
