And while you're not from Ferguson, or St. Louis, or Missouri...The key distinction is that what's happening in Ferguson is an injustice, which is inherently subject to condemnation no matter where you live, which is being committed by a government ostensibly acting in our name. A cafe choosing to remove one of its signs is not an injustice, and it's a decision made by a private business. If you don't live in Winooski, VT then you are likely not one of this cafe's regular customers, and as such your word means less to them than that of a local. |
