Then once AGAIN, you have zero understanding of how modern journalism works. They do NOT pay anyone to sit and monitor the radio anymore. You've got to get five stories out a day to keep your job now. And ya know whut? They don't even listen to police scanners anymore either.

The way it works now is that newspapers, TV and radio have a "tips line" ... if news is happening, you CALL them, an intern picks up the phone and writes it down, hands it to an editor. Editor decides if it's worth covering. The MAJORITY of story tips now come in on the station or paper's twitter account and once again, an intern writes it down, hands it to an assignment editor and then they triage the collection to see which five stories for each reporter are worth bagging.

Everything else is ignored. THIW.
