No biggie, no ego. Did it because I thought it was the right thing for the party for a seat to not be sought. The job was a lightweight thing, once a week for a couple of hours for village meetings, sign some bills, issue some proclamations, get paid a whole $3000 a year for doing it. Woohoo. :)But it was a VALUABLE lesson from the bottom of the ladder as to how politics really worked (from the inside) and made for some interesting awareness when I covered it knowing all that in later years. And after that, still wasn't all THAT pissed off at the party for the game played. Wasn't until Reagan came along that I flipped off the GOP. |
