"If the municipality can't sustain itself through taxation or user fees, it should disincorporate."Sometimes it can't for various reasons. I believe, if I am not mistaken, in NYstate, things like that have to get pasted in Albany. Even the creation of a village had to pass up in Albany. On Long Island, everyone is so overtaxed with so many services but no one wants to consolidate with other municipalities for various reasons. |
