However there is the possibility of use of deadly force when resisting lawful authority which I believe this case will boil down to.

I would also not be surprised if the officer was found to have acted in self-defense, but that was not vfrt's point of view. His point of view is that it does not matter if the officer behaved properly; the simple fact of the robbery justifies the officer.
