My post was 100% relevant to the text of your post.No it wasn't. You may have read my post, but you failed to understand it due to your inability to grasp nuance and context. OK, one condescending explanation coming right up! :) I posted a link to an article describing what is currently happening in Gaza, for the benefit of Gamera et al, who are willfully ignorant of the situation or simply don't care. Within the body of my post, I made a direct comparison between the Nazis' plan to commit genocide against Jews and Israel's current plan to commit genocide against Palestinians, as well as between the people who advocate for each. I referenced the fact that the anti-Palestinian nutters here on OTChat brazenly lie about events in Gaza (such as by claiming Israel doesn't deliberately target civilians, even though Israel admits that it does and everyone can see it anyway, by claiming that Israel doesn't keep Gaza impoverished even though they admit that they do, or by claiming that Israel's attacks on Gaza represent "self-defense" even though Israel is the aggressor and the war would end the minute Israel decided to stop fighting). I also pointed out that this is literally a matter of life and death, in a desperate attempt to shame people who believe human life simply has no value. Your initial reply was vague because, being autistic, you have difficulty forming a theory of mind and so you occasionally forget that other people don't see and think the way you do. However, with the additional information you supplied here and here, the truth became apparent. Firstly, you simply ignored the linked article because it expressed facts that contradict the fantasy you have devised where Israel is not committing ethnic cleansing. Because, as noted, you lack a theory of mind, you assumed that if you didn't read the article, it must not say anything relevant to anyone. This left you with nothing to reply to save the body of my post. The body of my post contained this phrase: but [in Gaza] people are actually dying. Obviously, this statement serves to rebuke the people on OTChat who consider the lives of Gazan civilians to be worthless— nothing more than tools for Israel to use in their attempt to claim the supremacy of the Jewish race or whatever they're trying to do. It drives home the horror of genocide and the moral bankruptcy of anyone who would condone it, let alone enthusiastically support it. However, you have trouble understanding nuance and context. Being autistic makes you a very concrete thinker, and so you took the statement completely literally, ignoring the meaning expressed in favour of the simple declaration that deaths have physically occurred in Gaza. Obviously, this is a fact that no one denies, which you indignantly declared. Out of context, your statement in that post would suggest that you were agreeing with the gist of the article and upset that I assumed people wouldn't— resentfully declaring that there aren't any Israel nutters here and I shouldn't assume there are. However, unlike you, am capable of understanding context, and so I interpreted your post in light of the relevant context, namely that (a) you are an Israel nutter yourself and therefore wouldn't agree with the article, and (b) you generally fail to understand nuance and context and therefore say stupid things. Given the latter, I suspected you'd failed to understand something drastic but the scope of your failure wasn't immediately obvious so I asked a clarifying question— did you read the article? You proudly admitted that you didn't read the article, meaning your response to it was inherently invalid— the only information that you had to respond to was the body of the post, which can't be properly understood without the context of the article it's describing. I pointed this out, noting that you clearly didn't have enough information to form a valid reply in principle. You demonstrated both your complete inability to understand nuance and context and your lack of a theory of mind by simply declaring that you never claimed to have enough information to make a valid response, as if context only exists to the extent that you declare that it does. Your post was also vague, but it expressed the relevant facts that (a) you didn't read the article and were responding to the body of my post, and (b) you were responding specifically to "a statement" therein. Your statement, of course, being this. I reread my previous post and found three things that could reasonably be called statements, namely (1) I don't have time to deal with Jews who advocate genocide, (2) said genocidal Jews have become boring and predictable, and (3) genocide is occurring in Gaza and anyone who supports it needs to shut up and think about their life. The first statement is a personal note about myself, not a likely target of your response. The second statement is not something that you would consider an obvious fact no one has denied. That left the third. Because, unlike you, I am capable of understanding nuance and context, I remembered that you generally fail to pick up on implications, subtext, and sarcasm and take things completely literally when they were clearly not intended that way. As such, I realised you probably read that incorrectly as the statement "individual deaths are physically happening in Gaza." Since that perfectly fit the criteria of a statement you would indignantly whine that no one has ever denied, I figured out the full extent of your failure, which ultimately culminated in this lengthy mansplanation in which you were pwned, then forced to watch a slow-motion replay of your own pwning while a commentator explained exactly how and why you were pwned and how much you must suck as a result. |
