Israel is responding to Hamas rockets and tunnels, as well as the kidnapping and MURDER of Israeli civilians by Hamas Hamas only exists because of Israel's occupation and oppression of Palestine. That's how Israel works— attack Gaza, wait for Gaza to defend itself, then point to Gaza's attempt at self-defense as justification for their attack, hoping that people will just sort of forget about how causality works.
