This is probably true, but you do realize the religiousness of it has nothing to do with any of it. Its all done secularly. It started in American culture to what it is now (and yes has spread to much of the western world at least more recently. Furthermore, it's safe to say that most of the people spending on 'Christmas" presents aren't the least bit religious. |
