OK, let's go over my point again, and see if we can figure out where you went off the rails.

Premise 1: Loads of people wave Confederate flags.
Premise 2: Flags are symbols for ideas.
Premise 3: Making a point of displaying a flag shows support of the ideas it represents.
Premise 4: The Confederate flag represents the Confederacy.
Premise 5: The Confederacy existed for the sole purpose of endorsing and perpetuating slavery.
Premise 6: If a person endorses something, then he believes it is right and just.
Deduction 1: People who wave the Confederate flag are endorsing the Confederacy (derived from premises 2, 3, and 4).
Deduction 2: People who wave the Confederate flag are endorsing slavery (derived from premise 5 & deduction 1).
Deduction 3: Therefore, a substantial chunk of the population believes that slavery was right and just. (derived from deduction 2 & premise 6).

So where did you go wrong? Explain which premise you believe is false, or which deduction you believe is fallacious.
