Yes, those are words in a sentence but you do not refer to the sentence. You refer to these words themselves as guiding principles. Yet there are times when all of those principles are ignored, for example: imprisonment (deprived of liberty), capital punishment (deprived of life).And yes, the statement about loving your neighbor may need clarification regarding what the speaker means by love, but once that clarification is made, a meaningful statement has been provided. |
