Posted by mtk52983 on Sun Mar 30 10:37:28 2014, in response to Re: US appeals court upholds new Texas abortion rules, posted by bingbong on Sun Mar 30 08:46:45 2014. 26 to 27 weeks is when they become bilaterally synchronous and you start to see the capacity for functional pain perception (whereas general response to painful stimuli occur aroudn 20 weeks)20 weeks is when you generally see the first burst of EEG activity and the development of the connections that will eventually lead to the capacity for functional pain perception. There are places that have claimed EEG activity at 12 weeks but from what I have read that may be a false positive because the connections for it to mean anything have not been developed yet. To put it another way it is like building a rail depot and not installing any tracks to it |
