Except having surgical privileges at a hospital does not make the procedure any safer. The law could have provided the same protection by simply requiring that there be a local hospital that will accept the patient if a complication should arise even if the doctor performing the procedure does not have privileges at that hospital. Second, if the need is so great why isn't the law in place for vasectomies? Or dentists? |
