Many thanks for your well detailed insight. I'm all for individual groups maintaining a sense of community and pride, and as such I don't necessarily object to long standing tradition, Nevertheless some acts that in the past were considered inline with tradition can tread a fine line of what is culturally accepted in the present day.While alternative ideals should not be imposed onto these independent organizations I still do believe that there should be a fair amount of encouragement for a general tolerance. Arguably too much to ask from many, but what else can be done? |
