Only "light rail" that ought to be invested in is the "streetcar" variety, e.g. Portland Streetcar, since that comes in at $10 million per mile or less. That's cheap enough to make it feasible to get rid of "bustitution" (if only Philly would listen w.r.t. routes 23 and 56, and maybe some other bus routes). |
