It's the same old shit as the others, just a mirror image. We have good local TV stations here that do "real news" (well, sorta) at 6 and 11 plus I know the anchors personally having worked with them for years. The local stations hire reporters right out of journo school from Plattsburgh, Fredonia and Montpelier on their way to the big leagues, so they haven't been poisoned by "instant news" yet.We have newspapers. That link I gave you the other day for the translator to our KNOS home page gets me Reuters delivered right to my desktop and if I want to know what's going on over in Ukraine, I can chat up Dmitriy or Oleg. If I want to know what's going on in Israel, I can chat up Yakel or Sam. I've GOT people, why would I want to be spoonfed by idiots? :) |
