The Bush administration was warned by the FBI and intelligence officials that something was afoot during the summer of 2001. Osama Bin Laden was identified by name as the mastermind behind the plot.Several 9/11 hijackers took flying lessons, and when it became clear that these individuals weren't interested in learning how to land a plane, their instructors became sufficiently suspicious, that they put their concerns in writing. The FBI was also apprised of this, and of Zacarias Moussoui's (the "20th hijacker") activities (he was investigated by the Minneapolis field office), but all that went by the boards. The signs were there. |
