I'm kind of struggling to understand why the (supposed) fact that electors have the freedom to vote as they please is somehow being interpreted as a reason to keep the Electoral College.In my, presumably bizarro, world -- the idea that there was a meaningful risk that a relatively small group of electors could overwhelm the will of the people and take over an election would be an argument for a direct popular vote election. |
