That's pretty much what it's all about. Always been the rule in Hollyweird that there's "no such thing as bad publicity". Except for Charlie Sheen. :)

But the whole "first amendment" thing over it is downright silly. Shows excessive knuckle-dragging sparks that constitutes a fire hazard. ;)
