I didn't say that it never happens. I agree, for apartments whose size and location is such that the prevailing rent in the neighborhood is well below $2,000, it will happen.Calll up a broker and ask him how many rent stabilized apartments he has listed. Don't be surprised if he starts laughing hysterically. There are virtually zero available. In particular, areas where they are available are areas where there isn't any apartment shortage. |
