Under Floriduh's law, no. He had every right to be there and as a minor, he would be defending himself against an individual that he had been taught for years would likely do him harm (read: The "stranger"). Today's kids are being exposed to a heightened paranoia about this, in the age of child abductions and Amber alerts.He had every right to stand his ground. Zimmerman, not so much as he initiated the altercation. Which is why I stand on the principle (and the majority of Americans far and wide agree) that he did commit murder in the real sense, if not according to Floriduh's fucked up law. As Zimmerman had the gun, he never was not in control of the situation, he could have used it to end the fracas anytime WITHOUT shooting. |
