Latkes though are particularly special - potato through cheesecloth, nice and almost "tater-tot" in consistency without the "ewwwww" and yet, wonderfully fired, with onion and a bit of love. It's amazing what commercial bastardizations have been made of knishes, latkes, kishka, and sadly, Kosher doggies.Having been born to "Scotts/Irish" rewts, I actually DESPISE taters and have a difficult time eating them. Scones though, and latke, no problem! Go figger! :) |
