Awesome!!! $4697 in front of the old Yankee Stadium would've been the old Bx49 that operated from COL depot. The Bx49 later went to KB before it was discontinued. It was a short route that operated through Highbridge along Woodycrest and Nelson Avs, between Yankee Stadium and the Morrisania Hospital. |

Those were the "good" ol' days. :-)I was too young to be around there - my first encounter with Flxibles were the ones on the E Bway and Ave B. Same with the Mack buses. Looking at the NE(?) corner of East Broadway and Catherine today, I'm amazed they squeezed a bus stop there, where there were usually a couple of red buses waiting to go. |
